Visitor and hour changes

For the safety of everyone involved, Adirondack Health has implemented some temporary changes in visitor policy and hours for its outpatient pharmacy.

VISITORS TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED

For the safety of everyone involved, Adirondack Health is restricting visitors to Mercy Living Center and Adirondack Medical Center.

Medical Fitness Center

The Adirondack Health Medical Fitness Center is reopening as of Monday, Aug. 31.

Mercy Living Center

* NOTE: Beginning Friday, Aug. 21, we are temporarily suspending face-to-face visits with residents. Click here to learn more. *

Our nursing home in Tupper Lake recently opened to visitors on a limited basis.

Visits will be available between 2 and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments should be made via the unit secretary. There will be no visits on weekends or holidays.

Visits will be 30 minutes long. We ask that visitors please be prompt so as not to inconvenience others with scheduled appointments.

Visits will be primarily outdoors at the front of the building. In case of inclement weather, including heat and humidity, indoor visits will take place in the Happy Days Café area.

Two visitors at a time are allowed per resident. Children under 18 yrs of age are allowed if accompanied with a person 18 yrs of age or older and only if well-behaved.

All visitors must submit to a health screening and temperature check,  wear a face mask and using hand cleanser before and after the visit. In order to conserve PPE, we ask that you wear your own mask as much as possible, though we will have masks available as needed. Visitors must maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet between you and the resident.

A facility cannot open to limited visitation if they have had a positive COVID-19 case within the last 28 days. Visitation will cease if a COVID-19 positive case is identified.

Gift shop open with social distancing

The gift shop at Adirondack Medical Center has reopened as of Aug. 3 on a limited basis.

To allow for social distancing, only three shoppers will be admitted at a time.

The gift shop be open 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, a change from its traditional hours

Adirondack Medical Center

Visits are only allowed right now for maternity care partners and imminent end-of-life situations. The decision to temporarily restrict visitation was made in view of the continued spread of the virus in neighboring Essex County, as well as the increased number of Franklin and Essex county residents in precautionary quarantine due to potential exposure.

Adirondack Health will reevaluate the hospital visitation policy every seven days. As a reminder, only those essential to the care of patients will be permitted to accompany clinic and outpatient visits. Any exceptions to the policy will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Pharmacy hours back

After being on restricted hours for some time, our outpatient pharmacy is currently back to operating on their normal schedule: 9 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
