AMC offers a wide range of on-site amenities for patients, families and visitors.

Telephones

Free local telephone service is available for patients. Your telephone is located at your bedside. A TDD (telecommunication device for the hearing impaired) is also available and is available upon request. To make a local call, dial "9" and then the number. Long distance calls must be charged to a calling card or called collect.

To make a long distance call or collect call, dial "O" for the hospital's operator.

Dining

The cafeteria at Adirondack Medical Center features daily lunch and dinner specials, along with a salad bar and other meal and beverage choices. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Patient meals may depend on the dietary plan and individual needs. Kosher, vegetarian or other special meals are available; please tell your nurse. If you would like fruit juice or other refreshments between meals, press your call button and ask. If you are on a special diet, a registered dietician will visit you to discuss your diet. If you have any questions about diet, the dietitians on staff are available while you are in the hospital or after you leave.

Breakfast is served from 7:15 to 7:30 a.m.; Lunch is served from noon to 12:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

Wi-Fi

Patients are welcome to access our free public wireless network on their own devices. Please ask the nursing staff about availability.

Mail and Flowers

Mail and flowers are delivered by Adirondack Health volunteers daily. Flowers for purchase are available in the hospital's gift shop, located in the cafeteria.

Banking

An ATM is located in the main lobby. Cards honored include NYCE, Plus Honor, VISA, MasterCard.

Pharmacy

The pharmacy is located on the first floor of the Redfield Medical Office Building. Hours are Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is staffed by our friendly volunteers and offers a wide selection of gift items, sweet treats, flowers, and magazines. It also features an Adirondack Room with gifts crafted by local artisans and others.

The snack bar sells Green Mountain Roasters Coffee and a selection of Danish, bagels, muffins, juice and soft drinks.

The Gift Shop gladly provides room service. To order, dial 2398. A volunteer will take your order, process your payment and deliver your item to the patient's room. If you are considering a food item purchase, please remember that patients on restricted diets need to consult their doctor, dietitian or nurse before purchasing food items.

Flowers

Flowers are available in the hospital's Gift Shop. Regan Lavair and her company, All Seasons Floral, provide bouquets which are delivered to patient rooms by volunteer staff.

Newspapers

Newspapers are available in the vestibule at the main entrance and in the third floor elevator bay.

For patients staying at the hospital
