Adirondack Health’s nursing staff will host a 5K to raise money for wellness programs in local schools.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Adirondack Medical Center, 2233 State Route 86 in Saranac Lake. The 5-kilometer course will take participants from the hospital campus down Old Lake Colby Road, to Trudeau Road and up Mount Pisgah Road, then back to the finish line at Adirondack Medical Center.
Online registration is open at www.active.com through Sept. 19. Registration fees are $10 for youths ages 11-17, $25 for adults and $75 for groups. The fee is waived for children age 10 and younger. Online registration includes a T-shirt, and each adult who runs with a youth age 17 or younger will be entered into a prize drawing.
The Adirondack Health Nursing 5K is a USA Track & Field sanctioned event. September is National Childhood Obesity Month, and proceeds from the race will benefit wellness programs in local schools.
