Telehealth & COVID-19

Move Better, Feel Better, Live Better

Here to help you negotiate your physical injuries during a time of uncertainty

Adirondack Health’s Rehabilitation& Sports Medicine Team hopes everyone is doing well, are safe and in good health. While much has changed, one constant is the rehabilitation team’s commitment to your health and safety. For those not able to attend therapy in-person, we have incorporated a comprehensive, and successful telehealth program. Telehealth is an online platform used to provide physical, occupational or speech therapy services. Most insurances are currently covering telehealth, however we will assist you in making sure this is included with your current plan.  If you do not feel comfortable attending an in-person session and would like to find out more information on telehealth, please give us a call.

For those coming into their appointment, you will experience a few changes. At all three of our outpatient sites, we are increasing our cleanliness and infection control priorities to provide safe and comfortable therapeutic interventions.  Our departments follow infection control guidelines developed by the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and our own internal infection control team. Our staff are continually educated regarding updates to those guidelines.

Some of the changes you’ll experience:

· Patients are being asked to arrive closer to appointment times as we are reducing the number of clients in our waiting areas

· At each of the clinic entrances, patients are being screened for symptoms to decrease possible exposure within the building. We ask that patients please wear masks.

· All surfaces are cleaned before and after use. There are various hand washing and sanitizing stations available to utilize throughout session.

· Each clinic has re-arranged equipment to promote social distancing and we ask that patients remain mindful of others while receiving treatment.

We know that things in the world are looking a little different right now, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be assisted in addressing your rehabilitation needs. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. We will do our best to help you in any way possible.
