Are you interested in giving back to your community?

Adirondack Health relies on a strong core of dedicated community members to help in a number of areas. We need volunteers at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake, the Lake Placid Health and Medical Fitness Center, and our health centers.

Adult Volunteer Program

Volunteers from all walks of life brighten our patients' days.

To become an adult volunteer, you have to be at least 18 years old and be able to commit to at least four hours a week for at least six months of service.

The application process includes completing an application, interview, criminal investigation check, drug screening, physical exam, immunizations if needed, and volunteer orientation. These services are provided at no cost to the volunteer.

Junior "Volunteen" Program

Our Volunteen program gives local students aged 14 to 17 a chance to learn about jobs in the healthcare field while helping out and gaining valuable experience. This popular program is a great way for teens to spend the summer.

Volunteens must provide at least one full weekday or two half-days each week over the course of the eight-week program.
