We offer testing daily at our COVID Clinic at Adirondack Medical Center, and we've also repurposed our old mobile dental clinic van to provide mobile testing to the other communities we serve.
You can show up at our mobile testing sites for drive-in testing, or you can make an appointment ahead of time for quicker service. Calling ahead is always highly recommended to save time.
Call 518-897-2462 to make an appointment.
We encourage you to contact your primary care provider for a test order before coming in.
A nurse will swab your sinuses through your nose for your COVID-19 test.
You will also have the option to have blood drawn to check for the presence of antibodies, which show up if you've already had COVID-19. Note that the CDC currently warns that there is not enough evidence to determine that antibodies mean you're immune to getting COVID-19 again.
Results for people tested at our clinics are currently taking 3 to 5 days to come back from the lab. If you have symptoms, you should contact your primary care provider before getting tested. Your provider can contact the COVID Clinic and arrange to have the test expedited if they believe it's necessary.
There is no direct cost to the person being tested, but Adirondack Health will collect health insurance information and bill insurance companies. Insurance companies not currently allowed to charge co-pays or deductibles for COVID-19 testing.
A day after you are swabbed for your COVID-19 test, you may receive an email with instructions on how to open a patient portal account. This account will enable you to access the results of your COVID-19 test, once it is processed. It may take several days before results are available.
